Black & White Kitchen Renovation in Gibsonia

Timeless, Considered Kitchen Transformation in Black and White

My client’s original kitchen was ADA-friendly, and they wanted an upscale, beautiful space that better suited their current stage of life. Black and white kitchens never really go out of style, but there's a difference between one that feels crisp and one that feels cold. My goal with this Gibsonia project was to land firmly on the crisp side.

We started with white cabinetry as the base, then let Absolute Black granite carry the contrast. It's leathered rather than polished, which gives it a soft, textured finish instead of a hard shine, and we used that same leathered black granite on the backsplash so the whole perimeter feels connected.

The island took on its own personality with quartzite, giving the room a natural break between the workspaces without breaking the palette. Ultimate Granite & Stone handled the installation, and their precision shows in how clean the seams and edges turned out. Polished nickel hardware from Hardware Resources and a Waterstone faucet in the same finish added just enough shine to keep the black and white from feeling flat.

It's a classic combination, but classic doesn't have to mean predictable. This kitchen is proof that timeless can still feel considered.
