Luxury Spa-Inspired Primary Bathroom in Butler
Bathroom Renovation with Soaking Tub
My clients came to me wanting a bathroom that felt truly luxurious, with unique textures and patterns throughout. Beauty was only part of the goal, though. They needed storage for their towels, toiletries, and grooming tools, and they wanted the space to support them comfortably as they age-in-place. My job was to bring all priorities together in one cohesive design.
Storage and Function
I started with storage, since a bathroom only feels relaxing when everything has a place. A dedicated linen closet keeps towels organized and close at hand. For the vanities, I selected drawers that would suit toiletries, allowing them to be tucked away neatly instead of collecting on the counter. I also included a cabinet with a grooming pull-out unit, giving my clients a designated spot for their grooming tools that's easy to reach and easy to put away.
Aging-in-Place
Planning for aging-in-place shaped several decisions in the room. I designed a curbless shower and added a grab bar for support where it's needed most. These features make the bathroom practical for the years ahead while still fitting naturally into the overall design.
The Luxury Spa Aesthetic
For the luxury feel my clients wanted, the freestanding soaking tub became the centerpiece. It gives the room the look of an upscale hotel bath and invites you to slow down and unwind. Traditional cherry cabinetry on the vanities brings warmth to the space, and gold fixtures add a refined finish. I selected a chevron-pattern tile with a wood texture for the bathroom floor, which gives the character and visual interest my clients were hoping for.
My clients had one concern about the countertops, and it was heat resistance. I recommended Dekton because it's an excellent choice for both durability and resistance to heat. The design complements the shower tile pattern perfectly, so the countertop and tile feel like they were meant to be together.
Every detail of this bathroom remodel was chosen with purpose, and the result is a space that feels special and works exactly as my clients envisioned.
